Research and Education for Citizen Scientists of the Paranormal.

Supporting scientific research, tools, and education for paranormal citizen scientists.

I.S.R.A.E. was formed in 2015 as a non-profit dedicated to the study of all things anomalous and paranormal. We’re comprised of professional scientists, dedicated volunteers, and active citizen scientists towards the goal of understanding how anomalous experience works and finding new ways to understand and measure hauntings, ghosts, religious experience, and entity encounters.

The Latest in Academic Haunting Research

I.S.R.A.E. and its collaborators have published dozens of formal research papers over the last four years. We’ve examined the cultural and social influence on hauntings, researched psychological and personality components to hauntings, fostered models for better understanding how the environment contributes to anomalous experience, and even created precise scales and measures for haunting phenomena.

Techniques, Apps, and Education for Citizen Science Investigations: Introducing MESA III

Were in process of creating a series of hands-on experiments that help citizen scientists understand how to collect science-grade data on investigations that protect against many forms of skeptical critique. You learn science and contribute to data in real experiments that help us understand phenomena like EVP, or electromagnetic fields and how they relate to hauntings and anomalous experience. In the meantime, we’ve even developed a phone app that makes collecting haunting data easy, dubbed MESA III

Volunteer Opportunities and Collaboration with Parapsychologists: Introducing the Roundtable of Citizen Scientists

Answers to some paranormal questions require big data (lots of data from lots of citizen scientists). That’s why were actively recruiting investigation teams for the express goal of collecting science quality data with the latest technology via MESA III, and survey measures that help investigators interview and understand what’s what with the people who experience paranormal phenomena. Interested in collaborating in a community environment? Sign up. We start meeting in February 2022.
